The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a wide variety of shrine quests that require clever use of environmental mechanics. One particularly memorable trial is the Keys Born of Water quest, which tests a player's ability to manipulate physical states of matter to unlock a hidden shrine. Found in West Necluda, this riddle-based puzzle offers a satisfying challenge for adventurers exploring the Surface of Hyrule.

Locating the Keys Born of Water Shrine Quest

To initiate the quest, travel to West Necluda, north of the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower near Squabble River. Look for a stone shelter built beneath raised terrain with orange and yellow trees growing overhead. Inside this shelter, speak with a Steward Construct to receive the cryptic clue regarding three altars and keys born of water.

Creating the Ice Block Keys

The solution involves converting liquid water from the nearby river into solid ice blocks using cold elemental tools. Players can utilize a Frost Emitter Zonai device or ice-fused items to freeze squares of water along the shoreline. Once frozen, use Ultrahand to transport the ice slabs back to the altar area inside the shelter.

Sizing and Fitting Ice into the Altars

The three diamond-shaped altars require ice blocks of decreasing sizes to fit into their respective slots. The largest altar accepts a freshly frozen ice block without any modification. For the middle and smallest altars, briefly heat the remaining ice blocks using a nearby campfire or Flame Emitter to melt them down to the correct dimensions.

Claiming the Rewards at Jochisiu Shrine

Slotting all three ice keys into the wall causes the structure to sink, revealing Jochisiu Shrine directly on top of the shelter. Use Ascend to reach the newly spawned shrine entrance and head inside to claim your prize. Since this is a Rauru's Blessing shrine, players can immediately claim a Light of Blessing alongside a Big Battery Zonai device capsule.
